Felt Fabric
Felt Fabric
Felt fabric is as ancient as the myths of humanity. It is a durable and versatile material that has been handcrafted from sheep's wool worldwide for many centuries. The production of wool felt is a multistep process. The wool is cleaned, carded, spun, and then processed by interweaving and felting the fibres to create a dense and stable layer. The result is an insulating and sound-absorbing material. Applications range from clothing and bags to furniture and components. Wool felt is not only functional but also environmentally friendly. Sheep's wool is a renewable resource that is naturally biodegradable. Moreover, the production of wool felt is an energy-efficient process that generates minimal waste and avoids the use of harmful chemicals. more

About

Arno Wandel is the collaborative project of the two brothers, Baldouin and Timo Bee, along with their friend Leon Beck. With our background in Architecture Cabinet Making, social sciences and humanities, we question the way we perform our daily rituals, what we need, and how we create things. Our work is about slowing down and liberating space, inspired by a lifestyle close to the ground. It all begins with the joy of making useful things, essential instruments for everyday use. We create objects we miss with the ambition that they outlive the trees they are made of. What drives us is the power of the essential in working with objects and space playfully.

We Care

Aligned with the principles of Cradle-to-Cradle, we work with biodegradable or fully recyclable resources. Inspired by natural materials, we develop construction techniques that understand and enhance the intrinsic qualities of the chosen materials, avoiding the use of glues or synthetic aids. Our Products are solid or detachable and ready to be reused or reunited with Mother Earth. We honour the sensual aesthetic integrity of wood, putting its natural beauty at the forefront of each piece. Each of our pieces is handcrafted by Lucian Kopp, our skilled and dedicated cabinetmaker, with the help of contemporary tools and technologies in the far south of Germany, Bodensee. We are committed to continuously improving our sourcing of materials and production processes. Prices are adjusted accordingly. All profits are reinvested in developing new products and improving what we have already created.
